Aerial Commercial Roof Inspection at Publix – Auburn, Alabama
Restoration Commercial Roofing Services performed an aerial infrared thermographic survey of the roofing system located at 2900 East University Drive, Auburn Alabama. The objective of this inspection was to identify thermal anomalies that may be indicative of moisture entrained within the roof insulation system.

The inspection was conducted usiinghigh-resolution visual and infrared imaging during daytime and nighttime flight operations. The survey was performed in general accordance with ASTM C1153 – Standard Practice for Location of Wet Insulation in Roofing Systems Using Infrared Imaging.
Survey Overview
The daytime aerial survey documented existing roof conditions and visible surface features.
Following sufficient solar loading and a post-sunset cooling period, nighttime infrared imagery was collected to identify temperature differentials that may be associated with subsurface moisture.
Thermal images were processed using FLIR Thermal Studio software to improve interpretation of temperature gradients and facilitate identification of areas requiring additional investigation.
Survey Conclusion
Based upon the conditions observed during this survey, several localized roof areas exhibit thermal characteristics consistent with conditions that may indicate moisture-affected insulation.Although the overall roof surface appears thermally uniform across large portions of the building, several isolated anomalies warrant additional investigation.
Prompt verification of these areas will assist the owner in determining whether localized repairs are appropriate or whether more extensive rehabilitation should be considered.
